Material and craftsmanship

The body of the box is fashioned in the shape of a carriage, featuring four openwork wheels each bearing a red cabochon stone in the center, a raised driver's seat element at the front, and a crowning decorative cap with a wreath of pearls and a central stone. The side panels display a dense floral niello ornament: engraved into the silver by hand and subsequently filled with the dark niello compound, which is fused in an open flame to remain permanently bonded to the silver — not a print, but ink in silver that gains contrast with every polish. Gilded contours on the wheel rims, decorative moldings, and the driver's seat provide warm accents against the black of the niello inlay and the cool white of the polished silver. Small golden drop pendants hang from the sides, lending the piece an additional sculptural quality.
