Material and Workmanship

All 24 pieces are made of 925 sterling silver and feature the delicate Niello hand engraving of the Merchant collection on both the front and back. Niello is a millennia-old refining technique: a black alloy is burned into fine, previously incised patterns, forming a chemical-physical bond with the silver — not a lacquer that could peel off. The shape and weight distribution of the handles are designed for a pleasant feel, so that the cutlery feels balanced even with prolonged use. The Merchant design is also available without Niello decoration, if you prefer the pure silver look — just ask us about it.

Use and Occasions

A complete 24-piece cutlery set for six people is suitable for occasions where an entire table is newly equipped or supplemented — as a wedding gift, for anniversaries, or as a conscious purchase for your own table. If you wish to expand the set later, dessert cutlery, serving pieces such as soup ladles, salad spoons, or cake servers, as well as matching silver dinnerware can be added upon request.

Care

Clean the set exclusively by hand with warm water and mild dish soap — dishwashers are unsuitable, as chemicals can tarnish the silver. For regular polishing, a special silver polishing cloth is suitable, which maintains the shine without damaging the Niello inlay.
