Unlike some other niello sets, the embellishment in the Family collection is deliberately only on the front of the handles — a rectangular field with a floral ornament that gives the set a calmer, cleaner line. The niello technique itself remains the same: a dark silver alloy, melted by hand into engraved lines and polished until it is firmly bonded to the silver. Each piece also bears the hallmark as proof of its 925 fineness.

Material and workmanship

All four pieces are made of 925 sterling silver and manufactured in Russia. The floral ornament on the front of each handle is engraved by hand before the niello compound is melted in and then polished. The hallmark on each piece confirms the silver content and is also a small sign of authenticity that can be felt at the end of the handle.

Care

Wash the set by hand with warm water and mild dish soap to protect the niello embellishment. We advise against using a dishwasher, as aggressive cleaners can damage the surface and the niello contrast. Dry the pieces immediately after washing with a soft cloth and store them in the provided gift box to prevent tarnishing. If necessary, a silver polishing cloth is sufficient to restore the shine.
