Material and workmanship

The Elegie line follows a geometric-architectural design language: column capital end caps finish the slender handle at the top, and the transitions to the bowl or blade are in gentle curves. The Niello leaf tendrils are not only on the visible front of the handle but continue on the back of the spoon bowl and on the fork tines – those who turn the piece over will see the same level of detail. Each line is first engraved into the silver, then filled with the dark Niello enamel and fixed with heat: a chemical-physical bond with the silver, not a lacquer that peels off over time. With a total weight of approx. 253 g for three pieces, this cutlery feels noticeably more solid in the hand than industrially manufactured flatware, which often weighs only 50 to 70 g per piece. On the back of the handle of each piece, the 925 stamp and the manufacturer's mark confirm the material and origin.

• Clean by hand with warm water and a mild, pH-neutral dish soap, then immediately dry with a soft cotton cloth
• No dishwasher – aggressive tabs, salt contact, and drying heat attack both the Niello inlay and the silver surface
• No silver dip, as this can damage the Niello filling
• Store between uses in the supplied manufacturer's box with velvet lining

Niello is a black inlay made from an enamel of silver, copper, lead, and sulfur, which is burned into previously engraved indentations. In the Elegie line, the leaf tendrils cover both the front of the handle and the back of the spoon bowl and fork tines.
