Material and workmanship

The body of the creamer remains matted, satin-finished 925 silver, without gold on the exterior wall. A wide niello band runs through the midsection with large-blooming lotus flowers—multi-part flower heads with dense leaves and vines, embedded in the classic plant pattern of the Veliky Ustyug school. Each line was drawn into the silver with a burin before the black niello inlay was fused into the engraved lines, sanded flush, and polished—like ink in silver. The result is inseparable—part of the metal, not applied. The gilding is placed precisely where the hand touches the piece and the eye looks first: the fully gilded handle, the gilded rim, the gilded spout, and the fully gilded interior. This triad of warm gold, niello black, and matte silver is a conscious composition—each tone highlights the other. Care

Hand wash only with lukewarm water and mild dish soap. No dishwasher, no silver dip—both attack the gilding. Never treat the gilded surfaces on the handle, rim, and interior with abrasive cleaners. The niello band is fused and permanent; normal cleaning does not harm it. You can gently refresh the matted silver body with a soft silver polishing cloth. Store in the gift case.
