Material and craftsmanship

The floral border that stretches broadly around the body of the bowl is created in several steps: each line is hand-engraved before the dark niello compound is applied, fired, and polished. Niello is neither a paint nor a lacquer, but a black inlay that is melted into the engraved lines, sanded flush, and polished – like ink in silver: a contrast of bright luster and deep black that does not peel off and gains depth over the years with polishing. The two handles are openwork, curved like wings, and each features three hand-set chrysoprase cabochons. Chrysoprase has long been considered a stone of peace and inner balance – a harmonious accent for a bowl that stands for connection. Upon request, the bowl is also available in a partially gold-plated version.

Usage and occasions

This bowl is intended for a grand appearance: as a confectionery or fruit bowl on a festive table, as a trinket bowl on a dresser, or as an independent object in a display cabinet. With its 550 ml capacity, it is suitable for chocolates, small fruit, or as a decorative flower vessel. As a gift, it is perfect for weddings and anniversaries – the name "For Two" and the symmetrical handle arrangement make it a quiet gesture for a couple. It is also an exceptional piece for collectors of Russian silver art: solid 925 silver, hand-engraved niello, and set gemstones in a combination that is rarely found.

Engraving and SilberVerse card

Personalized engraving is possible upon review – for example, initials, a date, or a short dedication on the base or inner surface. This makes the bowl a unique piece. Additionally, we offer a SilberVerse card in photo format (15 × 10 cm landscape) – individually and digitally designed, tailored to the occasion and recipient, free of charge.

Care

Clean the bowl with a soft, dry, or slightly damp cloth. Do not use silver dip or a dishwasher – this protects both the cabochon settings and the niello inlay. Regular, careful polishing will make the contrast between silver and niello stand out even more clearly over time. Store in a dry place, ideally in the gift packaging.
