With approx. 204 g of silver for the holder alone, the construction is solid, and the scene wraps completely around the body so that it unfolds as a narrative as the glass is turned. The included teaspoon is thematically coordinated: a delicate branch-like handle with implied bark texture, crowned by a sculpturally modeled capercaillie with a fanned tail. The spoon is antique patinated, a superficial, thin blackening in the relief recesses that highlights the sculpture's dimensionality. This patination is not niello; niello is a different technique involving fused sulfur-silver paste, typical of the SevChern manufactory.
