The serving surface has a curved, leaf-like shape and features a precisely cut, clover-shaped opening near where it joins the handle—a decorative detail that adds a sense of lightness to the piece. The handle itself is adorned with a floral niello ornament: vines and blossoms fused into the silver in a dark finish. This niello inlay is not a coating, but an alloy that is fired into engraved recesses and subsequently polished—the contrast between the bright silver and the dark niello deepens with every gentle polish.
