Material and Workmanship

The Rosata Gourmet Set deliberately combines two surfaces in one composition. The coffee Turk comes in pure engraving: the bulbous amphora silhouette with a blooming floral rosette, the warm beechwood handle, no niello — this clarity keeps the Turk timeless and combinable. A narrow foot ring at the bottom ensures a secure stand on the stove and tray. The Moka cup, on the other hand, bears niello: an acanthus band entwines the silver goblet holder in a classic black and silver contrast, and inside is a white porcelain insert that keeps the coffee warm and simplifies cleaning. The coffee spoon features a niello acanthus medallion on its curved stem, and the stirring spoon has a niello detail in a rectangular frame. Niello is not a coating, but an alloy of silver, copper, lead, and sulfur that is chemically and physically bonded to the metal — it does not fade and gains contrast when polished. Each piece bears the hallmark confirming its 925 fineness and manufacturer.

Care

Each part has its own requirements. The coffee Turk with pure engraving can tarnish like normal silver — clean it with a soft silver polishing cloth. Cups and spoons with niello decor do not tarnish; niello is a chemical-physical bond, not a lacquer, and the contrasts even deepen when polished. Clean the porcelain insert of the cup simply with warm water and mild dish soap. Always keep the beechwood handle of the Turk dry, no soaking. For all silver parts: hand wash, no dishwasher, no ultrasonic bath.

How many cups does the 200 ml coffee Turk make?
The Turk holds approx. 200 ml of liquid. With a filling quantity of approx. 60–70 ml per Turkish Moka cup, this results in 1 to 2 servings.

Why does the Turk not have niello, but the cup and spoon do?
This is a conscious design decision of the Rosata line. The Turk in pure engraving remains timelessly neutral and combinable, while the niello accessories bring contrast and ornament to the set without dominating the Turk.

On which types of stovetops can I use the silver coffee Turk?
The Turk is suitable for gas, ceramic hob, and sand bath. The flame should never be wider than the Cezve base so that the silver base heats evenly. Induction hobs are not suitable as silver is not a ferromagnetic material.
