Material and craftsmanship

What distinguishes the Gilded set from single-sided decorated cutlery is the double-sided niello inlay: The floral pattern is not only applied to the visible front of the handle but also to the back – a detail usually missing from simpler cutlery. In addition, gilding adds a warm gold accent to the pure silver tone. Both techniques together create a dense, high-contrast look that clearly stands out from unadorned standard cutlery.

Gilded is part of the range of the SevChern manufactory from Veliky Ustyug, whose niello tradition has been documented since 1683. Each piece bears the 925 hallmark as a sign of authenticity.

Care

Clean the Gilded set exclusively by hand with warm water and mild dish soap, then immediately dry with a soft cloth. The dishwasher is not suitable, as chemicals and heat can damage both the gilding and the double-sided niello inlay. Store the pieces in the supplied gift box, protected from moisture and scratches.

Unlike many pieces of cutlery that only decorate the front of the handle, the Gilded set features the floral niello pattern on both sides. When you pick up the cutlery and turn it, the same care is shown from both sides.
