Material and craftsmanship

The spoon is made entirely of 925 sterling silver, without any gold plating – the clear, cool silver tone is intentionally kept in the foreground. At the end of the handle sits a floral niello ornament in deep black: the niello technique comes from the Russian silversmithing tradition and is combined here with a modern, minimalist aesthetic. The deep black contrast effect is created by a dark silver alloy that is melted into finely pre-engraved lines and permanently bonded to the silver – like ink in silver, no printing, no coating. The table spoon is hallmarked.

Usage and occasions

The solid 925 silver and durable craftsmanship make this spoon well-suited for regular use – for soups, stews, or as a classic dinner spoon. As a gift, it is perfect for anyone who prefers stylish contrasts and understated elegance over opulent decoration: for a housewarming, an anniversary, or as a supplement to existing silver cutlery. You can find matching table forks, table knives, and dessert spoons from the Astra Black line in our tableware collection.
