View baby gift setsAn engraving that captures the christening day
The cup has a smooth back, directly opposite the figure. A first name and christening day can be engraved there. On the spoon, the back of the handle takes up to 20 characters. One flat fee applies per engraved piece, which goes into the basket as an engraving service. Note your text under “order note at checkout”. We clarify the finer points after the order. Where an engraving is not technically possible, we refund the flat fee.
A verse for the occasion and the name can be added as a SilberVerse card, 15 × 10 cm, on request and at no extra charge.
Christening gift for boys: cap, jacket and rocking horse in relief
The boy wears a cap and a jacket with buttons, and a rocking horse keeps him company. On the spoon the same figure sits at the top, with a heart beneath it. Blackened recesses bring out the contours there. On the cup the figure stands raised against smooth silver.
The heart on the spoon handle stands for affection. That suits a day on which a child is the centre of attention.
Calm and without colour
This set does without enamel and gold plating. Without colour it looks calm and leaves the stage to the figure. The cup has a handle with a scrollwork ornament and shines inside and out. The spoon lies with a satin bow in the yellow-orange case. The counterpart with a girl figure is the Girl gift set. More pieces from the line are shown in the Royal Childhood collection.
When the child being christened is a boy: silver to hand on
Godparents hand the set over on the christening day, and grandparents add it to the celebration. Parents like the calm look, which does not stand out among lots of tableware. If you would rather not give both at once, start with the children’s cup Boy.
Boy with rocking horse: questions and answers
What does the rocking horse on the set mean?
It stands for play and imagination. You will find more ideas for this day in the article Christening gifts for boys in our guide.
Is there a set with colour for boys?
Yes. The Prince christening gift carries a blue enamel coat of arms beneath a crown, a different motif from the same line.
Can I order the cup or spoon individually?
The children’s cup with boy is available individually. We carry the spoon in a gold-plated version as the children’s spoon Boy.
How do I keep the silver in shape?
Clean it by hand, dry it gently and avoid the dishwasher. If there are slight signs of tarnish, carefully polish the smooth surfaces with the silver polishing cloth. The dark recesses on the top of the spoon are part of the design and are deliberately left as they are.
