At the top of the handle sits a round medallion with a small crown as its finial. Inside stands the guardian angel, with an inscription running around the outside. The ground behind the angel is blue enamel, while the angel itself stays silver.

The same blue fills the vine panel below on the handle. The smooth bowl throws the light back. Dimensions of the spoon: approx. 113 × 25 × 10 mm at approx. 13 g.

Cross and cord to choose from

The small cross is made in the Orthodox form. Its ends flare into trefoil shapes, the corpus can be seen, and the eyelet sits at the top. It measures approx. 20 mm and weighs approx. 1 g. Together, spoon and cross bring approx. 14 g of silver to the scales.

Spoon and cross were consecrated by the local Orthodox parish of the Church of the Protection and Intercession of the Virgin in Kolchugino. A certificate from the parish is enclosed with the set. The consecration is a church custom and not a promise of protection.

Engraving: Where the name goes

The back of the handle directly below the medallion is engraved. There is room for 10 to 12 characters, usually for a first name. The medallion, enamel and cross stay without engraving.
