Christening Set Guardian Angel Medallion 925 Silver and Red Enamel — Spoon + Cross Pendant, Consecrated

Why not red for the christening? A deep raspberry red glows behind the silver angel in the medallion. The 925 silver set brings together a spoon with a guardian angel and a cross, both consecrated, in a case.

Deep raspberry red behind the angel

At the end of the handle sits a round medallion with a small crown. Inside stands the guardian angel, with an inscription running around it. The background is red enamel, and the angel stays silver.

The red returns in the vine panel below, while the smooth bowl stays bright. Length, width and height of the spoon: approx. 113 × 25 × 10 mm. Weight: approx. 13 g.

A request to the angel, noted behind the medallion

The back of the medallion carries a line in Church Slavonic: “Ангелъ за трапезой незримо предстой”. It means: “Angel, be invisibly present at the meal.”

It refers to a table custom. One asks the angel to be present while eating.

Cross on a white, blue or pink cord

The cross has an Orthodox shape, with a corpus and trefoil-shaped ends. Its size: approx. 20 mm, its weight: approx. 1 g.

The cord is white unless you say otherwise. Blue or pink are possible. It is missing in the photos, where the cross lies loose next to the spoon. You note your colour in the “order note at checkout” field.

How a name gets onto the handle

The engraving area is on the back of the handle, directly below the medallion. 10 to 12 characters fit in, usually a first name. Enamel, medallion and cross carry no engraving.

The engraving service is a separate item and goes into the basket in addition. Write down the name under “order note at checkout” when you order. We will clarify the finer points together afterwards. If the engraving is not technically feasible, you will get the flat fee back.

Would you like more words than the handle holds? Then ask us for the SilberVerse card, 15 × 10 cm. It costs nothing.

Consecrated in Kolchugino, certificate included

Spoon and cross were consecrated by the local Orthodox parish in Kolchugino in the Wladimir region. A certificate is enclosed. For us, this is a custom of the church and not a promise of protection.

Twins and two colours

With twins, the colour helps to tell the spoons apart. Alongside this red set there is the christening set with blue enamel, with the same motif and dimensions. With one name each on the handle, every spoon belongs to one child. Each engraving needs its own flat fee.

The same motif, other spoons and finishes

We also carry the medallion set with a gold-plated angel and a blackened finish. With a different spoon there is the christening set guardian angel with pink enamel. Are you looking for just a spoon? Then take a look at the christening spoon with angel in pink, a model of its own.

Red christening set with guardian angel: Answers to common questions

What do guardian angels mean?
According to Christian belief, an angel accompanies a person through life. For the christening, this image is given as a wish.

How do the four colour variants differ?
Spoon, cross and case are the same in all of them. The medallion is different: red enamel as here, blue enamel, with a gold-plated angel or blackened.

How do I care for the set?
Treat the red enamel just like the silver next to it. Hold spoon and cross briefly under lukewarm water, dry them with a soft cloth, done. The dishwasher is off limits.
