This tea infuser made of 925 sterling silver with a niello ornament and silver chain is the most elegant example of this form. With a total length of approx. 154 mm including the chain, it can be held securely and easily removed.

The Tea Infuser: Compact, Precise, Elegant

A tea infuser works differently than a basket tea strainer: you fill loose tea into the ball, close it, and immerse it in hot water. The ball slowly rotates, the tea leaves expand, and the aroma infuses through the openings into the cup. Those who like strong tea leave the infuser in longer; those who prefer mild tea remove it early.

This tea infuser has a diameter of 32 mm — large enough for large-leaf teas, compact enough for all common cups. The silver chain (total length including infuser approx. 154 mm) allows for safe removal without the risk of scalding.

Niello on the Sphere: Ornament in Round Form

The niello ornament encompasses the entire sphere of the tea infuser. Engraving on a curved surface is more challenging than on a flat one — the pattern must organically wrap around the shape without interruption. The result is an ornament that continuously changes as the sphere rotates: sometimes the black, sometimes the silver comes to the fore.
