Material and Workmanship

The infuser bowl is pear-shaped and finely perforated — large enough for large-leaf tea, compact enough for any standard cup. The stem remains slender and smoothly polished, without ornamentation, so that it rests comfortably in the hand. The niello appears only at the upper end of the handle: a shell and flower-shaped end cap in the style of classic rocaille ornamentation, with waves and foliage, darkly melted into the silver. This niello inlay is not a coating, but an alloy that is burned into engraved depressions and then polished — it cannot detach. 925 sterling silver means 92.5% fine silver content, confirmed by the hallmark with fineness indication, manufacturer's mark, and Russian state hallmark.

Fill loose tea into the infuser bowl, hold the spoon in the hot cup, remove after the desired steeping degree — done. With a length of approx. 153 mm, the handle fits comfortably in the hand, while the bowl reaches to the bottom of the cup.
