Description
"Победа!" — Victory! The inscription is in a golden, cursive engraving on the cup of this goblet, accompanied by a five-pointed star and a frieze of waving flags in niello black and gold. On the back, a laurel wreath encloses the Eternal Flame — the symbol of remembrance for all those who did not return. Made of 925 sterling silver, gold-plated, with a capacity of 165 ml: a goblet that does not celebrate, but remembers, and which, during a toast on May 9th or at any commemorative occasion, carries a meaning that goes beyond the mere drinking vessel.

Material and Workmanship
This goblet has two sides that belong together. Front: "Победа!" in golden, ornate script, plus a five-pointed star and an arched frieze of stylized, waving flags in black niello technique with golden contours — symbols deeply rooted in Russian and post-Soviet culture, standing for victory, courage, and gratitude. On the back: a laurel wreath medallion, in the center of which the Eternal Flame (Вечный Огонь) rises with golden flame tips — the universal symbol of remembrance, burning centrally in many Russian cities. The bulbous chalice shape with a turned baluster stem and gold-plated foot ring follows the same form as the fan medallion stemmed glass from our range — gold-plated inside, with a gold rim. The difference lies in the motif: where the fan chalice is decorative, this goblet is symbolic.
Use and Occasions
In Russian culture, May 9th, Victory Day, is the most important day of remembrance — the day World War II ended in Europe. Families gather, remember grandfathers and great-grandfathers, raise a glass and remain silent for a moment. This goblet is made for precisely this moment: not a party glass, but a commemorative chalice. It is suitable as a gift for veterans and veterans' families, for the round birthday of an older family member who experienced the post-war period, for patriotic honors and farewells, as well as for collectors of Russian silversmithing who appreciate the victory motif as a thematically unique piece in the SevChern collection.
Engraving and SilverVerse Card
An engraving is possible upon request — on the foot or on the polished surface of the cup. A name, a date, or a personal saying can be engraved in addition to the Pobeda motif. With personalization, we include a personal SilverVerse card in photo format (15 × 10 cm landscape) — individually designed, suitable for the occasion, and currently free of charge.
Care
Clean the goblet by hand with warm water and mild detergent, then dry thoroughly. The dishwasher is not suitable as it attacks the gold plating and niello contrast. 925 silver is food-safe — for very hot drinks, however, it is advisable to let it cool briefly before picking up the goblet.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does "Победа" on the goblet mean?
"Победа" (Pobeda) is the Russian word for "Victory". Together with the star, flag frieze, and the Eternal Flame, the motif refers to Victory Day (May 9th) — the day of remembrance for the end of World War II in Europe.
Can you drink from the goblet?
Yes — 925 silver is food-safe, as is the interior gold plating. 165 ml is suitable for wine, cognac, or a toast. Clean with warm water, not in the dishwasher.
Why does it say "approx." for the weight?
Each piece is manufactured individually in the workshop — wall thickness and engraving depth can vary slightly. For approx. 185–190 g, small deviations are normal.
