Goblet 925 Silver Niello Pobeda Victory — gilded 165 ml

"Победа!" — Victory! This inscription appears in golden, cursive engraving on the bowl of this chalice, accompanied by a five-pointed star and a frieze of waving flags in niello black and gold. On the reverse, a laurel wreath encircles the Eternal Flame — the symbol of remembrance for all those who did not return. Crafted from 925 sterling silver, gold-plated, with a capacity of 165 ml: a chalice that does not celebrate but commemorates, and which carries a meaning beyond that of a mere drinking vessel when used for a toast on May 9th or any other commemorative occasion.

Material and craftsmanship

This chalice has two sides that belong together. Front: "Победа!" in golden, flowing script, accompanied by a five-pointed star and an arched frieze of stylized, waving flags in the black niello technique with golden outlines — symbols deeply rooted in Russian and post-Soviet culture, representing victory, courage, and gratitude. On the back: a laurel wreath medallion, in the center of which rises the Eternal Flame (Вечный Огонь) with golden flame tips — the universal commemorative symbol that burns in a central location in many Russian cities. The bulbous chalice shape with a turned baluster stem and gold-plated base ring follows the same form as the fan-medallion stemmed glass in our range — gold-plated on the inside, with a gold rim. The difference lies in the motif: where the fan chalice is decorative, this cup is symbolic.

Use and occasions

In Russian culture, May 9th, Victory Day, is the most important day of remembrance — the day World War II ended in Europe. Families gather, remember grandfathers and great-grandfathers, raise a glass, and hold a moment of silence. This chalice is made for exactly this moment: not a party glass, but a commemorative vessel. It is suitable as a gift for veterans and veterans' families, for the milestone birthday of an older family member who lived through the post-war period, for patriotic honors and farewells, as well as for collectors of Russian silversmithing who appreciate the victory motif as a thematically unique piece in the SevChern collection.

Engraving and SilberVerse card

Engraving is possible upon request — on the base or on the polished surface of the bowl. A name, a date, or a personal message can be engraved in addition to the Pobeda motif. With personalization, we include a personal, photo-format SilberVerse card (15 × 10 cm, landscape) — individually designed, tailored to the occasion, and free of charge.

Care

Clean the chalice by hand with warm water and a mild detergent, then dry thoroughly. It is not dishwasher safe, as this will damage the gold plating and the niello contrast. For very hot drinks, we recommend letting it cool briefly before holding the chalice.

Frequently asked questions

What does "Победа" on the chalice mean?

"Победа" (Pobeda) is the Russian word for "victory". Together with the star, the flag frieze, and the Eternal Flame, the motif refers to Victory Day (May 9th) — the day commemorating the end of the Second World War in Europe.

Can you drink from the chalice?

Yes — the chalice is made of 925 silver and is gold-plated on the inside. 165 ml is suitable for wine, cognac, or a toast. Clean with warm water; do not use a dishwasher.

Why is there an "approx." next to the weight?

Each piece is crafted individually in the workshop — wall thickness and engraving depth can vary slightly. Minor deviations from the approx. 185–190 g are normal.
