Description
A stag stands in the medallion — upright, with proud antlers, surrounded by leaves and branches. It is not a naturalistic portrait, but a stylized depiction in the tradition of Russian ornamentation: the animal as a symbol, not a likeness. The stag stands in a rhombic cartouche on a gold background on the cup of this wine goblet, framed by floral niello scrollwork with gold accents. 925 sterling silver, gilded inside — a motif that tells of forest, wild game, and hunting.

Material and Workmanship
The niello hand engraving shows the stag in a rhombic cartouche with a golden background. To the left and right, floral scrollwork flows past in niello black, and at the foot, the theme is repeated in a narrow ornamental band with a golden foot ring. Niello is a centuries-old silver inlay technique: fine depressions are worked into the silver and filled with a black metal alloy that, when fired, fuses indissolubly with the silver base. The goblet is made by SevChern in Veliky Ustyug, Northern Russia, in approximately 15 steps. The goblet shares its shape and dimensions with the other motifs in the 175 ml line and can be combined with them.
In Russian ornamentation, the stag represents grace and vigilance — the animal that senses danger before it becomes visible and disappears into the forest in the next moment. On this goblet, it is not a hunting trophy motif, but an image that shows respect: for the animal, for the forest, for the connection between man and nature, which finds its oldest expression in hunting.
Use and Occasions
For hunters, the stag on the goblet speaks a language that needs no explanation — as a hunting cup, as an award, or as a personal item to be raised by the fireplace after the hunt. For a milestone birthday, it is a gift for the man who loves the forest and appreciates nature as well as craftsmanship, along with a good bottle of wine: The wine is drunk, the goblet remains. For Father's Day, it is a more personal gift than a voucher and more lasting than flowers. And for collectors, it is part of a family of motifs that grows piece by piece — each motif a different image, all from the same manufacturer and the same mold.
With 175 ml, the goblet is suitable for wine, liqueur, or cognac; the internal gilding protects the silver from acid.
Engraving and SilberVerse Card
Engraving on the foot or stem is possible upon request. With engraving, we include a SilberVerse card in landscape format 15 × 10 cm — individually designed digitally, currently free of charge.
Care
Clean with warm water and dry with a soft, lint-free cloth. Do not use a silver dip, as this could damage the niello inlays. A soft silver polishing cloth is suitable for polished surfaces; the niello ornaments should not be aggressively treated. Stored in the gift box, the shine will be preserved.
Frequently Asked Questions
What exactly does the motif show?
A stylized stag with antlers in a rhombic cartouche, surrounded by leaves and floral niello scrollwork. The motif is in the tradition of Russian ornamentation — decorative, not naturalistic.
Can the goblet be used for drinking?
Yes. 925 silver is food-safe, and the internal gilding additionally protects against acid. 175 ml is suitable for wine, liqueur, or cognac.
Can I order a set with different motifs?
Yes, upon request. Any combination is possible, such as two goblets with the same motif or a set with different motifs from the 175 ml line.
