Stemmed Glass, 925 Silver Niello Medallion with Photo — Gilt Wine Goblet

A wine chalice with a secret: set into the bowl is an oval medallion of polished silver — a small door that opens. Behind it is space for a photo. A picture of the person you love, on a chalice from which you drink. 925 sterling silver, surrounded by dense niello ornamentation with golden accents and a gold-plated interior. A photo medallion, embedded in Russian hand-engraved niello — the most personal gift one can give in silver.

Material and Craftsmanship

The medallion on this chalice is not just a decorative element — it is a frame. A small oval window of polished silver in which a photo can be inserted: a passport photo, a miniature wedding photo, a child's photo, or a picture of someone who is no longer with us. The medallion sits on the front of the bowl, framed by dense niello ornament that flows past on the left and right like a curtain being drawn. When fired, the niello inlay bonds firmly with the silver base and becomes more contrasted over the years, rather than fading. The chalice is crafted by SevChern in Veliky Ustyug, Northern Russia, in around 15 production steps.

When you lift this chalice, a face looks back at you. This is different from an engraved chalice — an engraving states a name, but a photo reveals a person. When the chalice is on the table, every guest can see who is looking back from it.

Usage and Occasions

For a wedding, a photo of the couple in the chalice becomes a lasting memento: after the celebration, the chalice stands on the shelf, to be raised again for the silver anniversary. For someone in remembrance, a photo in the chalice is a quiet, warm companion — the beloved person is present during toasts at birthdays, Christmas, or anniversaries. For Father’s Day or Mother’s Day, a child’s photo in the chalice is more personal than almost any other gift: the child grows, but the photo remains. For a milestone birthday, the memory itself becomes the gift — a photo of the celebrant as a child, as a young person, or as a bride. And as a business gift, the chalice with a company logo or portrait in the medallion is perfect for business partners who appreciate the extraordinary.

With a volume of 175 ml, the chalice is suitable for wine, liqueur, or cognac. The medallion sits on the outside of the bowl and does not come into contact with the beverage.

Engraving and SilberVerse Card

In addition to the photo, an engraving on the base or stem is possible upon review; the medallion itself remains reserved for the photo. With personalization, we include a 15 × 10 cm landscape SilberVerse card — individually digitally designed, free of charge.

Care

Clean with warm water and dry with a soft cloth; do not use silver dip due to the niello inlays. Open and close the medallion door carefully to protect the hinge. Stored in its gift box, the shine is preserved.
