The spirally crafted handle of solid silver is a classic motif of sophisticated silversmithing and is shaped, smoothed, and polished step by step until the twist, balance, and haptics are perfect. The gilded handle sections provide a warm accent against the cool clarity of the silver. At the end of the handle is the characteristic niello inlay: dark lines, finely etched into the engraving and permanently fused with the silver, no coating or varnish. The slightly leaf-shaped blade of solid silver is smoothly polished and glides effortlessly through butter and fine spreads.
