Material and Workmanship

This set deliberately foregoes gilding – a decision for a cooler, clearer expression. Each of the three glasses stands on a slender stem with a round base and features a band of black niello ornament at the top edge: a coat of arms motif with floral framing that extends around the entire glass body. Pure silver meets deep black niello drawing, without distracting gold glint. The oval serving tray (127 x 158 mm) features a matching niello ornament on the rim and forms the stage for all three glasses – whether on the table or in a display cabinet, the set appears as a cohesive object.
