Description
A goblet whose stem itself becomes a message: an open silver heart in which a small key swings freely. The key to the heart needs no explanation — the image speaks for itself, every time you hold this vessel. Above it rises a wide cup made of 925 sterling silver with a broad niello ornament band in gold and black, below it a wide base with its own band in the same technique. Inside, warm fine gold gleams. It is the largest and heaviest goblet in our entire stemware line — made for moments that deserve a grander setting.

Material and Workmanship
The stem of this goblet features an unusual construction: instead of a regular baluster, an open silver heart forms the connection between the cup and the base. Inside this heart hangs a small, freely moving key made of polished silver — it swings softly when the goblet is moved. The heart is not an applied decoration, but carries the entire construction: the chalice rests on the heart, and the heart rests on the base.
A wide niello ornament band with dense floral tendrils and golden accents encircles the cup — more elaborately crafted than on the smaller chalices of the line. The base features its own, narrower band in the same technique. Niello is a centuries-old black metal inlay that binds indissolubly with the silver base: not a lacquer, but a chemical-physical fusion that gains contrast with every polish instead of fading. The piece comes from the SevChern manufactory in Veliky Ustyug, Northern Russia — one of the most traditional centers of Russian silversmithing, where this technique has been passed down through generations.
Use and Occasions
This goblet is made for a toast that resonates beyond the moment. For a wedding, it is the vessel for the first shared drink after saying "I do" — and afterwards a memento that is raised again on every wedding anniversary. For an engagement, it conveys a sentiment that many only think: I give you the key to my heart. For a silver wedding anniversary, it combines the material of the jubilee with the symbol of enduring love. And even on Valentine's Day or Mother's Day, it is a gift that remains, where flowers wilt and chocolate passes.
With a capacity of 200 ml, the goblet is large enough for a festive toast with champagne, sparkling wine, or wine. The interior gilding protects the silver and gives the drink a warm, noble glow.
Engraving and SilberVerse Card
Upon request, engraving is possible on the base, on the rim of the chalice, or on the polished surface of the cup — names, a date, or a personal message. With every engraving, we include a SilberVerse card in landscape format 15 × 10 cm: a digitally individually designed card with a personal text, currently free of charge and newly created for each order.
Care
After use, clean the goblet with warm water and a soft, lint-free cloth; do not put it in the dishwasher. A soft silver polishing cloth is suitable for the polished silver surfaces; the niello ornaments should not be aggressively treated. Between occasions, the included gift box preserves the shine and protects against tarnishing.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does the key really swing freely?
Yes. It hangs loosely in the open heart and moves as soon as the goblet is lifted or set down — firm enough not to fall out, free enough to swing. This is intentional: it gives the stem a lively, almost animated touch.
Can you actually drink from the goblet?
Yes. 925 sterling silver, like the interior gilding, is food-safe. At 200 ml, it is ideal for champagne, sparkling wine, or wine. The heart handle sits stably and securely in the hand.
What distinguishes this goblet from the chalice with a photo medallion?
The heart-handle goblet has the heart with a key as its stem and symbolizes love. The chalice with a photo medallion, on the other hand, has a small door on the cup for a personal photo and symbolizes remembrance. Both are unique pieces with a very personal message.
