Geometry in the Floralis Collection

The Floralis collection predominantly features floral niello ornamentation — blossoms, tendrils, leaves. This cup is the exception, and that's precisely what makes it interesting: the diamond grid is geometric, but the material, technique, and origin are the same. On the table next to the teapot, it creates a clear accent — not because it doesn't fit, but because it has its own tone.

The service is a modular system. You choose what belongs on your table. Upon request, we can assemble the Floralis ensemble for 1, 2, 4 or more people — cups, saucers, pot, sugar bowl, any combination is possible. Individual pieces can be reordered at any time.

The Diamond Grid — Niello in Geometric Language

A regular diamond pattern structures the entire outer surface of the cup. Parallel lines flank the grid top and bottom. The niello blackening fills the areas between the diamond lines — deep black, permanent, chemically bonded to the silver. The raised grid points and edges remain highly polished. The result: The pattern looks different with every incidence of light — sometimes the black dominates, sometimes the shine of the silver.

SevChern, founded in 1933, continues the niello technique with 15+ steps per piece — as a state-recognized folk art craft, unique in this form worldwide. In 1937, the manufacture won the gold medal at the Paris World's Fair for niello silver.

Care: Hand wash with lukewarm water and mild dish soap — no dishwasher. The niello diamond pattern is permanently fused; normal cleaning will not harm it. Refresh the polished silver surfaces with a soft silver polishing cloth, taking care to avoid the black niello areas. Store in the gift box.
