Material and Workmanship

The cezve silhouette — conical neck, bulbous base, silver cuff at the handle transition — follows the classic 16th-century form. Acanthus volutes in deep niello black run across the entire outer wall, interrupted by the central lozenge-cross medallion. The long beech wood handle reliably insulates the hand from the heat. The silver spoon is the thematic echo of the Turkish pot: The handle end decoration features a niello medallion with a stylized coffee cup, from which steam rises, flanked by three coffee beans. Niello is not a paint or coating, but an alloy that is melted into engraved depressions and forms a chemical-physical bond with the silver — not a lacquer that peels off.

Usage and Occasions

The Turkish pot holds 370 ml, which is enough for 3 to 4 cups of Turkish mocha à 60–70 ml. Suitable heat sources are gas flame, ceramic hob, and hot sand; induction is not suitable, as silver is not ferromagnetic. Care

A soft silver polishing cloth is sufficient for both silver parts; no immersion bath, no aggressive cleaners. Keep the beech wood handle dry after use, do not soak, occasionally rub with a drop of walnut oil. Both pieces are suitable for hand washing only, not for the dishwasher.
