Material and Workmanship

The body of the bowl is polished 925 Sterling silver and features as its central motif a branch with cherry blossoms and a small bird – hand-engraved and filled with the dark niello alloy. Niello is not an applied color, but a metal alloy of silver, copper, lead, and sulfur, which is burned into the engraved depressions and then ground flush – insolubly bonded with the silver. The rim, the two side handles, and the base ring are gilded and form the warm frame around the silver center. This triad of bright silver, deep niello black, and warm gold is the distinguishing feature of the SAKURA collection.

Usage and Occasions

157 mm width with handles and 95 mm diameter of the bowl itself result in a size with presence, without dominating the table. With a capacity of 200 ml, the bowl is suitable for desserts, cream soups, appetizers, or delicate canapés. Care

Hand wash only with lukewarm water and mild dish soap. No dishwasher, no ultrasonic cleaner, no silver dip – these methods attack both the gilding and the niello inlay. For polished silver surfaces, a soft silver polishing cloth is sufficient. Store dry, ideally in the accompanying gift box.
