Material and craftsmanship
The colored panels on the handle are not printed: in the filigree technique, fine silver wires are bent into a pattern, soldered, and thus form small, closed cells. Colored enamel is placed into these cells and fired. On this spoon, this creates a floral pattern with cells in shades of green, red, and white, each one delimited by a fine silver edge. The gold-plating of the rest of the spoon provides a warm frame around the colored decor.
Use and occasions
This coffee spoon is suitable as an individual gift for a birthday, Christmas, or as a small token of appreciation for someone who appreciates coffee and fine silverware. It can also be combined with matching silver tableware, such as coffee cups or sugar bowls with similar enamel decoration.
Engraving and SilberVerse card
Upon review, we can engrave the spoon with a name, date, or monogram—you can specify the desired text when ordering. If you wish, we can also include a personal SilberVerse card in photo format (15 × 10 cm landscape)—individually designed, suitable for the occasion, and free of charge.
Care
925 silver can tarnish slightly over time—it can be easily refreshed with a soft silver polishing cloth. The enamel panels are sensitive to aggressive cleaning agents, so please wash by hand and do not put in the dishwasher.
Frequently asked questions
Is the spoon made of real silver?
Yes, it is made of 925 sterling silver and is additionally gold-plated.
What distinguishes filigree enamel from other enamel techniques?
In the filigree technique, fine silver wires are shaped into a pattern; the resulting fields are then filled with colored enamel. This results in a three-dimensional, tactile pattern rather than a smooth surface.
Can the spoon go in the dishwasher?
No. Please wash by hand—the enamel decoration is sensitive to high temperatures and cleaning agents.
