925 Sterling silver, crafted from a cup wall. No color, no gilding. The small figure is the entire motif — everything else is a smooth, polished surface.

The braids — a signal of time

The first thing that catches the eye are the two braided pigtails on the right and left. They are not accidental. Braided hair has been the sign for "girl" in European imagery since the 19th century — in Biedermeier paintings, in children's books, in early silversmithing. No bows, no crowns, no flowers: just two braids. That's enough.

If you look closely at the motif, the girl is depicted in a dress that suggests knee-length skirt pleats — also an artistic convention that harks back to early children's fashion. Her hands appear to be holding something small, perhaps a flower. So precise that it can be read in silver, yet so open that every child can recognize themselves in it.

What this cup is NOT

Not a princess cup. No coat of arms, no crown, no red enamel. If you want a dramatic heraldic motif, you'll find it in the Princess variant (SW10775). This girl's cup is quieter — it foregoes color and symbol and instead relies on the figurative gesture. A child depicted as a child, not as a fairy-tale figure.

The back — space for the dedication

The back is smooth. There's space here for an engraving: name, baptism date, birth date.
