Description
Description
A baby gift set made of 925 silver with a star motif from the Royal Childhood line by ArgentA Manufactory: a baby spoon with a golden crown on the handle top, a large star in yellow-blue guilloché enamel, and small stars on the handle — plus an acrylic teether with a dangling 3D star pendant (with a delicate crescent moon detail inside). A premium star variant with real gold plating and multi-colored enamel — not a DoDo learning tool, but classic Russian silverware craftsmanship in child size. The set comes in the original orange and gold Royal Childhood gift box.
What do you give when the star motif isn't in plain silver, but is meant to shine? A composition of a golden crown, an orange-yellow main star, and blue accents on the handle — three colors in an enamel composition. How do you find a godparent gift whose gender symbolism remains freely selectable and is not tied to one color? This variant: blue and yellow together, neither a pure girl's nor a pure boy's gift. What do grandparents want whose gift should look like classic silverware tradition without sliding into sober silver heaviness? A line whose crown symbolism conveys dignity, whose multi-colored enamel adds playfulness.

What makes the premium variant special — Crown, gold plating, multi-color enamel
Unlike the DoDo Star Set variant with pure silver, this Royal Childhood variant comes with three levels of refinement: a small gold-plated crown at the top of the handle, a large star in yellow-orange guilloché enamel directly below it, and smaller blue star accents along the handle. The guilloché technique under the enamel allows the silver to shimmer through the color layer — the star doesn't look flat, but dynamic and vibrant. This is classic Russian silverware craftsmanship in child format, not the DoDo learning tool principle.
Gender-flexible — blue and yellow for girls and boys
The ArgentA Manufactory recommends blue as the main accent for boys and red as the main accent for girls in the parallel available variants of the line. But this is only a suggestion from the manufacturer, not a fixed rule. In this variant, yellow-orange (warm main motif) mixes with blue accents — deliberately gender-neutral:
- For a son: the blue star accents match the classic boy coding, the warm yellow-orange adds warmth
- For a daughter: the warm yellow-orange is the main tone, blue does not appear obtrusively masculine, but as a playful accent
- For unknown babies (e.g., when the gift is chosen before birth): the multi-color composition is universally readable
If you're looking for an exclusively blue variant (classic boy), you'll find it as a counterpart; if you're looking for a red variant (classic girl), you'll find that too. Color choice is a family matter, not a manufacturer's rule.
Star and Crown — the Royal Childhood symbolism
For centuries, the star has been a symbol of luck and guidance — the North Star for orientation, the Star of Bethlehem as a religious anchor, "born under a lucky star" as a common birth wish. The golden crown at the top of the handle complements this star symbolism with the gesture of dignity of the Royal Childhood line: Godchildren of nobles were formerly equipped with silver courtly tableware — the crown is the hallmark of this tradition. Both symbols together — star + crown — create a special birth wish: may the child be born under a good star and grow up with dignity.
The acrylic teether with crescent moon and star pendant
The second part of the set is an acrylic gripping ring with a dangling 3D star pendant made of 925 silver. Inside the pendant is a small crescent moon — a classic double symbolism of star + moon, which appears in European saint and lullaby traditions. The acrylic ring (13 g) is light enough for the baby to hold from the first weeks of life; acrylic is saliva-resistant and safe for biting during teething. The silver pendant swings on the ring when shaken, creating a subtle sound impulse — stars that can be heard.
For what occasion — birth, baptism, first birthday
Classic occasions are birth and baptism. At the baptism ceremony, the set works particularly well because the golden crown and the orange-gold gift box are fittingly representative of the ceremony — godparents and grandparents often consciously choose this variant as a dignified first outfit piece. The set is also suitable for the first birthday: The teether is often obsolete by then, becoming a keepsake in the display cabinet; the spoon is used daily at the table when the child begins to spoon for themselves. Some families also choose the set for Christmas — the star symbolism fits the Bethlehem motif of the Nativity scene.
Engraving on request — back of the handle
The engraving is placed on the back of the spoon handle. Recommended: Name + Date of Birth, about 12–18 characters per line. The manufacturer customizes the engraving position to the handle shape — even for this Royal Childhood variant with an ornamental handle back. The acrylic teether is designed as a sculpture and does not offer an engraving area. With an engraving order, we include a free SilverVerse card — a handwritten poem, individually tailored to the occasion and printed on photo paper.
Care for gold plating and enamel
Clean baby spoon and acrylic teether by hand with warm water and mild dish soap, dry with a soft cloth. For the polished silver surfaces, a silver polishing cloth is sufficient. For the golden crown and guilloché enamel, do not apply abrasive cleaners or silver polish directly — the gold plating is thin (galvanic), the enamel is durable but not abrasion-resistant. Do not treat the acrylic ring with solvents; mild soapy water is sufficient. Neither piece is dishwasher safe. For storage, the Royal Childhood box remains the best solution.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the set for girls or for boys?
Both — the multi-color composition of yellow-orange and blue is deliberately gender-flexible. The ArgentA Manufactory also offers variants with pure blue (classic boy) and pure red (classic girl). For those who do not want a fixed choice or are selecting the gift before birth, this offers a universal middle ground.
What is the difference to the DoDo Star Set variant?
The DoDo Star Set is pure silver without gold plating and enamel — factual, tactile, with a bubble relief on the handle. This Royal Childhood variant comes with a golden crown, multi-color enamel, and an ornamental handle shape. DoDo = learning tool line. KK = silverware line.
What is the meaning of the crown on the spoon top?
The small gold-plated crown is the trademark of the Royal Childhood line and stands for the Russian tradition of courtly children's equipment. Godchildren of nobles were given silver courtly tableware — the crown translates this tradition into a gesture for today's birth or baptism gift.
Does the gold plating hold up in everyday use?
Yes, with careful hand washing, for decades. The galvanic gold layer is thin (around 0.5–1 µm) but permanently bonded to the silver, provided no abrasive or aggressive cleaners are used. It also protects the silver on the crown from tarnishing.
Can the set be supplemented later?
Yes. Matching star pieces are available from the Royal Childhood line — cups, picture frames, pendants. On request, we will curate an extended star configuration with you.
