Description
Baby rattle 925 silver frog — teething ring with pearly white acrylic ring
A pearly white acrylic ring adorned with a three-dimensional, seated frog crafted from solid 925 sterling silver—playful, charming, and thoughtfully designed down to the last detail. The semi-transparent ring, with its delicate pearlescent shimmer, serves as both a grasping ring and teething aid: baby hands instinctively grasp it, and the smooth, BPA-free material provides a cooling surface for teething babies. A small, seated frog, also made of 925 sterling silver , hangs from a metal loop at the bottom of the ring—sporting a broad grin, large round eyes, and outstretched hind legs, all polished to a mirror finish. When the baby moves the ring, the silver pendant gently rocks against the acrylic, producing a soft, bright clinking sound. Not a classic rattle, but a delicate acoustic signal that sparks curiosity without being overwhelming. Made by Zaramella Argenti —an Italian silversmith from Padua, renowned for uncompromising quality since 1948.

Zaramella Argenti — Italian silver art since 1948
This frog pendant comes from the Zaramella Argenti manufactory in Padua, northern Italy. Since 1948, the Zaramella family has been producing solid sterling silver in a tradition rooted in Venetian silversmithing. You can recognize its quality by three features: a flawless, mirror-like polish across the entire surface, invisible solder joints, and the hallmark "30PD Z 925" —the official Zaramella hallmark guaranteeing 92.5% pure silver. Zaramella also produces pieces for the French luxury house Christofle, among others—a testament to the high quality standards of this manufactory.
The frog pendant — cheerful, three-dimensional, full of character
The silver pendant depicts a seated frog as a fully sculpted, three-dimensional figure—not a flat relief, but a small sculpture with volume and depth. Its hind legs are splayed out to the sides, as if the frog were sitting relaxed on a lily pad. Two large, round eyes dominate the face, giving the frog a curious, alert expression. The most striking feature is the broad grin : a smile so infectious that it even brings a smile to adults' faces. It is not a neutral animal face, but a figure with genuine character—friendly, cheerful, and a little mischievous.
The design is intentionally child-friendly: clear shapes, exaggerated proportions of the eyes and mouth, and a silhouette that is immediately recognizable even to a newborn. Babies in their first weeks of life are particularly responsive to high-contrast shapes and distinct facial features—the frog's dominant eyes and broad smile provide precisely this visual stimulation. The entire surface is polished to a mirror finish: the frog captures the light and reflects it with every movement, further attracting attention.
Note: Zaramella also offers the frog as a stem-shaped rattle (item 11610). In this version, the frog's rattle head sits atop a smooth silver stem, which can be engraved and contains small silver beads. The acrylic ring version shown here is the modern variant—without engraving, but with a teething ring function.
The acrylic ring — a grasping ring and teething ring in one
The pearly white acrylic ring is the heart of this product. Its round shape makes it a perfect fit for small baby hands—large enough to be gripped securely, yet light enough for even the youngest babies to hold. The smooth, rounded surface has no edges, no grooves, no places where anything could get caught.
BPA-free and food-safe: The acrylic ring is made from a material approved for direct contact with infants' mouths. Babies will instinctively put the ring in their mouths—this is intentional and harmless. During teething, when gums are irritated and sensitive, the smooth acrylic provides a comfortable surface for chewing and biting.
Cooling relief for teething: Place the ring in the refrigerator (not the freezer) for a few minutes before use. The cool material relieves pressure on the gums and soothes the baby. Especially during teething, the cool surface provides noticeable relief.
Antibacterial properties thanks to silver: The 925 sterling silver pendant hanging from the ring possesses natural antibacterial properties. Silver ions inhibit the growth of bacteria on the surface—a significant advantage for an object that is regularly placed in the mouth.
SilverVerse card as a gift accompaniment
Since this acrylic ring cannot be engraved, we offer an alternative for those who would like to add a personal touch to the gift: the SilverVerse card . A custom-designed card in photo format (10×15 cm) — featuring the child's name, date of birth, a personal greeting, or a blessing. Each SilverVerse card is unique, designed to suit the occasion and the recipient.
A SilverVerse card is especially fitting for the frog design: A saying about transformation and new beginnings, combined with the child's name, turns the baby rattle into a meaningful gift. Simply specify your request when ordering or contact us via WhatsApp, chat, or email. The SilverVerse card is currently free —it will be included with the gift in the Zaramella box, making a beautiful present truly personal.
The frog as a symbol — luck, change and new beginnings
The frog is one of the most symbolic animals of all—and its meaning is particularly fitting for the birth of a child. At its core lies the transformation : from a tiny tadpole living underwater, a frog emerges, inhabiting both worlds—water and land. This metamorphosis is one of the most striking examples of change in nature. And that is precisely how the life of a newborn begins: a complete new beginning, a transformation, a transition into a new world.
In many cultures, the frog is considered a lucky charm . In Japan, "kaeru" (frog) also symbolizes "return"—giving a frog as a gift means wishing the recipient a safe return home and good fortune in all their endeavors. In European tradition, the frog represents fertility, renewal, and the beginning of something new. Giving a frog to a baby is a way of wishing them: Grow, transform, leap bravely into life—and always return home safely.
The frog motif is intentionally gender-neutral and suitable for both boys and girls. It is particularly appropriate for parents looking for a gift with deeper meaning—something beyond the classic bear and bunny motifs.
Use and development — from day one
From birth: In the first weeks of life, the acrylic ring serves primarily as a visual object. The mirror-like shine of the silver pendant catches the light and draws the baby's attention. The frog's broad grin and large eyes offer a high-contrast silhouette that fascinates newborns.
From around 2-3 months: Babies begin to reach for objects. The acrylic ring is ideal for these first grasping attempts. Its round shape, without corners or edges, ensures that the ring can be held securely, even when motor skills are still uncoordinated. Every movement makes the frog pendant swing—the soft clinking sound provides an audible reward for each grasping attempt.
From approximately 4–6 months: During teething, the ring becomes an active teething ring. Babies instinctively put the acrylic in their mouths and chew on it. The cool effect (after refrigeration) soothes the pressure on the gums. At the same time, the silver pendant gently vibrates against the ring with every movement—an auditory stimulus that promotes cause-and-effect perception: "I move the ring, and it makes a noise."
As a keepsake: Once the active use phase is over, the frog teething ring remains a memento of those first months of life. Solid sterling silver lasts for generations — the Zaramella gift box is ideal for storage. Perhaps one day your own child will hold this frog in their hand.
Care and storage
Acrylic ring: Clean the ring regularly with warm water and mild dish soap. Dry with a soft cloth. Do not use harsh cleaning agents or abrasives; do not put in the dishwasher. Replace the ring if visible scratches or discoloration appear.
Silver pendants: Clean the mirror-like shine with a soft silver polishing cloth as needed. A light patina that develops over time is normal for sterling silver and can be easily removed. Avoid contact with perfume, chlorinated water, or sulfur-containing rubber.
Storage: Store in the included Zaramella gift box, in a dry place away from light. Keep the silver and acrylic components separate when the ring is not in use for extended periods to prevent marks on the polished silver surface.
Frequently asked questions about the baby frog rattle with acrylic ring
Is the acrylic ring safe for biting?
Yes. The acrylic ring is BPA-free and food-safe — approved for direct mouth contact with infants. The smooth, edgeless surface is specially designed for babies. During teething, you can pre-chill the ring in the refrigerator — the cool surface soothes pressure on irritated gums.
Does the rattle make any noise?
The silver pendant produces a soft, bright clinking sound as it swings against the acrylic when the ring is moved. It's not a classic rattle like a stem-shaped rattle with silver beads inside, but a gentle acoustic signal—subtle enough for sensitive baby ears, yet noticeable enough to spark curiosity.
Can the rattle be engraved?
No. The frog pendant is three-dimensional and figurative—engraving is not possible. If you are looking for an engravable frog rattle, we recommend the frog rattle with a stem (item 11610)—it has a smooth surface on the stem that can be engraved. As a personal alternative to the acrylic ring, we offer the SilverVerse card —currently free.
How does this rattle differ from the frog-shaped rattle?
The stem-shaped rattle (item 11610) is a classic design: a frog-shaped rattle head with silver beads inside, and a smooth stem for gripping and engraving. The acrylic ring version shown here is the modern alternative: it functions as a teething ring, provides a cooling effect during teething, and is lighter. The stem-shaped rattle can be engraved, the acrylic ring cannot. Both are from Zaramella Argenti.
For what age is the teething ring suitable?
From birth. In the first few weeks, it serves as a visual and tactile grasping object. From about 4–6 months—when the teething phase begins—it becomes an active teething ring. As a keepsake made of 925 sterling silver, it accompanies the child long after its active use period.
