Silver Baby Rattle 925 Frog — Smooth Handle, Engravable

Above a smooth, polished handle sits a frog with a broad smile, cast in 925 sterling silver: big eyes under domed lids, a perfectly round belly, the toes spread wide. The handle has room for a name or a date. Behind the rattle stands the Italian workshop Zaramella Argenti.

Silver Frog Baby Rattle: Smile, Round Belly, Spread Toes

The frog sits upright and looks straight ahead. The mouth stretches wide to both sides, with the mouth opening suggested below it; the belly is formed by a smooth sphere, and the feet lie flat. Front and back are alike in face and body; there is no display side. In many cultures the frog is considered a lucky charm; whether that suits a newborn is a matter of interpretation.

The rattle is approx. 12.5 cm long and weighs approx. 21.5 g, slightly differently for every piece. A small loop sits below the figure.

Engraving on the Smooth Handle: a Name, a Date or a Short Dedication

Below the frog, the handle is narrow; towards the end it widens into a reflective surface without grooves or pattern. Twenty characters fit there, for example “Noah”, “Emma 12.03.27” or two initials with a date.

The order is placed in one go. You fill the cart with the rattle and the engraving service fee; we discuss the wording with you afterwards. You do not need to give approval beforehand. If the engraving cannot be carried out on the piece, we refund the fee. With engraving, the parcel arrives 1 to 3 working days later, and goods with an engraving are excluded from the right of withdrawal; so read the name and date once more before ordering.

If more should be said than fits on the handle: the SilberVerse card is available with the rattle free on request. The verse and the card image are created with the help of AI from your details on the name and the occasion; the verse has three to four lines and can be written in the language of your choice. A photo card is printed, 15 × 10 cm in landscape format, delivered in the standard frame (silver, white or black).

For a Birth, Christening and Baby Shower: Who Gives the Frog Rattle

Parents often have the first name engraved before the rattle goes into the nursery. Godparents choose the date of the christening, grandparents the birthday together with their grandchild’s name. If you are giving a gift at a baby shower and do not yet know the name, you can bring the rattle along without engraving: the frog does not determine a gender and works even without a name.

The Same Frog in Other Versions

With grooves and a bow on the handle, but without an engraving surface, the figure is available as a handle rattle with a textured handle. Flatter and smaller, with round goggle eyes, the little frog sits on a decorated handle. The large frog and the little frog on the ring hang on the pearl-white acrylic ring as a teething ring. Together with the other motifs, you will find them among the silver baby rattles.

Caring for the Mirror Shine

Polished silver shows fingerprints; a soft cloth removes them. A soft brush helps between the toes and under the lids. Wash by hand in lukewarm water with mild washing-up liquid, not in the dishwasher; a silver polishing cloth polishes tarnished silver.

Frequently Asked Questions about the Silver Rattle with a Frog

Does the frog look the same from both sides?
Yes. Face, belly and legs are designed the same on the front and back, so you do not have to hold the rattle in any particular direction.

What can be engraved on the handle?
There is room for 20 characters, from a first name to a date to a short dedication. The engraving service fee goes into the cart together with the rattle.

Is the frog also available without a smooth handle?
Yes, as a rattle with a grooved handle and a bow. No engraving is possible there; for something personal, there is the SilberVerse card.

What goes with it as a christening gift?
For the day of the christening, the date can be engraved. What else belongs to a christening is shown in the selection of gifts for a christening; for personalisation, the guide to personalised christening gifts helps.

How does the rattle arrive?
It is packed in a fine gift box that you can give just as it is. The design sometimes changes between deliveries; gift wrapping can be added on request.

Does the silver rattle with frog bear a hallmark?
For the silver rattle with frog, the silver is hallmarked and bears a fineness stamp (hallmark). We're happy to send you photos in advance — just write to us. The maker's certificate card is included.
