Silver Baby Rattle 925 Frog — Textured Handle

This rattle has something to feel: the handle beneath the frog is lined with lengthwise grooves, and at the end of the grip there is a small bow in relief. At the top sits the frog in 925 sterling silver, from the Italian workshop Zaramella Argenti. The handle offers no engraving surface, but it is the more varied of the two handle shapes.

Silver Frog Handle Rattle: Grooves, Bow and Sitting Figure

The frog sits upright, its face in a broad smile, its eyes under arched lids, its belly a smooth sphere. On the back the picture repeats itself: face, belly and legs look exactly the same from behind. The handle begins below the feet; a small loop sits there. Length approx. 12.5 cm, weight approx. 21.5 g; silver turns out slightly differently from piece to piece.

What the Hand Feels on the Handle

The handle is not a smooth round: several grooves run along it, it widens towards the bottom, and the bow at the end stands out in relief. Added to this is the smooth sphere of the frog’s belly. Babies explore things with their hands and mouths; here, reflective and textured surfaces alternate.

Without an Engraving Surface: How the Name Is Added Anyway

The grooves and the bow leave no smooth surface free on the handle, which is why this rattle cannot be engraved. If you would like a name in the silver, choose the frog rattle with a smooth handle: the same figure, up to 20 characters. A name without engraving is also possible, via the SilberVerse card, which is available free on request. For this, a verse of three to four lines and the card image are created with the help of AI from your details; the card is printed as a photo card (15 × 10 cm, landscape format) and sits in a simple standard frame, in silver, white or black as you choose.

Lucky Charm and Fairy-Tale Figure: What the Frog Tells

In the fairy tale of the Frog Prince, a frog is transformed, and in many cultures it stands for luck and change. As a motif for a birth or a christening, this can be read as a beginning and a little luck. It is no more than an interpretation.

Care: Dust and Grease out of the Grooves

Dust and skin oils settle in the grooves. A soft brush, lukewarm water and mild washing-up liquid are enough; then dry thoroughly. The dishwasher is out of the question. If the silver becomes dull, a silver polishing cloth helps.

Frequently Asked Questions about the Frog Rattle with a Grooved Handle

Can this frog rattle be engraved?
No, the handle is grooved throughout and carries the bow; there is no free surface. With a smooth handle and engraving, the same frog is available as the frog baby rattle, smooth handle shape.

How does the grooved handle differ from the smooth handle?
In look and in feel in the hand: the smooth one is reflective and takes an engraving, the grooved one has a bow and lines. Figure, length and weight are the same.

Does the frog have a face on the back as well?
Yes. The figure is designed the same on both sides, with a face and a belly.

Is the frog a gift for boys or for girls?
It suits both; the motif does not determine a gender. Further suggestions: the gifts for a birth and the article on the history of the silver rattle.
