Orthodox Baptism Spoon 925 Silver – Guardian Angel Blue-Gold

A child is being baptized, and the family is looking for a gift that worthily commemorates this day — one that is not just beautiful, but meaningful. This Orthodox baptismal spoon made of 925 sterling silver features three symbols of Orthodox tradition on the end of its handle: a gold-plated Orthodox cross, a guardian angel in relief silver work, and a vibrant blue enamel that evokes the icons of Orthodox churches. Material and craftsmanship

From top to bottom, the end of the handle tells a small story in silver. At the very top is the gold-plated Orthodox cross with its three crossbars — the central symbol of salvation in the Orthodox faith. Directly below, a guardian angel in relief silver work spreads its arms, surrounded by sunbeams and delicate ornamentation. The blue enamel is applied in multiple layers and fired at a high temperature; it is firmly bonded to the silver rather than painted on, ensuring the color remains stable for years. The spoon is part of the DoDo collection by ArgentA and is delivered in the signature DoDo gift box with a rainbow motif.

Usage and occasions

This spoon is intended for an Orthodox baptism — the moment when a child is received into the faith community according to the Orthodox rite. In many Russian Orthodox families, it is also gifted at birth, often by the grandparents, as a sign that the faith is being passed on to the next generation. The guardian angel represents a deeply personal concept: in Orthodox tradition, every person receives a guardian angel at baptism to accompany them through life. The blue enamel, in turn, is considered the color of heaven and the Mother of God in the Orthodox icon tradition — often chosen for boys, although there is no longer a fixed rule today. If you are looking for a girl, the rose gold variant better matches the same motif.

Engraving and SilberVerse card

The back features Orthodox script and embossing — there is no space left for an engraving. Regardless, we are happy to include a personal SilberVerse card in photo format (15×10 cm landscape) upon request — individually designed, appropriate for the occasion, and free of charge. When ordering, simply specify who the card is for and who it is from, and we will take care of the rest.

Care

Clean the spoon by hand with warm water and mild dish soap, then dry it with a soft cloth. The dark patina that silver develops over time can be refreshed with a silver polishing cloth — it is perfectly fine to leave it in the recesses of the relief, as it emphasizes the structure. The gold plating and enamel should not be exposed to abrasive cleaners or silver dipping baths. Not dishwasher safe. Store the spoon in the included DoDo box when not in use.
