Silver Cradle Medal 925 Angel — Rattle Pendant on a Satin Ribbon

A cherub head with wings in 925 sterling silver hangs from a white satin bow: this is the cradle medal, which you will also find with us as a rattle pendant. It has neither a handle nor a ring, only a small silver loop above the bow. Zaramella Argenti makes it in Italy.

Silver Angel Cradle Medal: Cherub Head on White Satin

The head is worked as a small silver figure: curly hair, a face looking forward, and wings with feathers to the left and right. It sits in front of a bow of white satin whose ends fall downwards. The cradle medal measures approx. 11.5 cm and weighs approx. 16.5 g; the weight differs slightly from piece to piece.

Hanging the Cradle Medal: Where the Angel Goes

It is meant to be hung in the nursery, on the wall above the chest of drawers or on a hook on the wardrobe, where the angel can be seen from the door. The pendant and ribbon should stay out of the baby's reach, so they hang higher than small hands can grab.

Angel as a Cradle Medal, Rattle or Teething Ring

We offer the angel in several shapes. You hold the handle rattle with a cherub head in your hand, and its handle has a smooth engraving panel. On the rattle with an angel on the disc a whole angel sits on a cloud, and the angel on a teething ring hangs from a pearl-white acrylic ring. The cradle medal is the shape for hanging: you hang it up instead of holding it. All shapes at a glance can be seen in our silver baby rattles.

Silver Guardian Angel Pendant for a Baby: Birth, Christening, Baby Shower

For a birth, the angel comes into the nursery as a gift from grandparents or friends, for a christening it complements a spoon or a rattle, and for a baby shower it is a small present that needs no name. Engraving is not possible, as the figure has no free surface. A name or a greeting can instead be given with the SilberVerse card: a verse of three to four lines, printed on photo paper 15 × 10 cm, landscape format, and framed, at no extra charge and added on request. If you would rather have the name on the silver itself, the angel rattle with an engraving panel is the one.

Frequently Asked Questions about the Cradle Medal with an Angel

What is the difference between a cradle medal and a rattle?
A rattle is held by its handle or ring, whereas the cradle medal hangs from a bow and is hung up. As a rattle pendant, it still belongs among the silver baby rattles.

Does the pendant show an angel face on both sides?
No. The face is only on the front; the back has a design of its own.

What do you give for a birth if it should be more than a rattle?
Silver with a motif that carries a meaning, such as an angel, which traditionally stands for protection and blessing. You will find more ideas in the guide to meaningful gifts for a birth, and all angel motifs in the angel collection.

Does the cradle medal come ready to give?
It comes in a fine gift box and needs no further packaging. The box may look different in future.

How do I clean the cradle medal?
The silver angel can be wiped with a silver polishing cloth if it has tarnished. The satin ribbon stays dry; water and dish soap are not for the bow.

Is the cradle medal with angel hallmarked?
Definitely: the silver is hallmarked. The piece comes with the maker's certificate card. On request, we'll send you photos in advance.
