Description
This birth and christening spoon made of 925 sterling silver combines a clock face for the time of birth with a guardian angel as a symbol of blessing and security, plus engraving fields for the year of birth, weight, and height. It is suitable as a gift for both a birth and a christening. The angel represents the wish for a good companion to watch over the child.
At a glance
- Material: 925 sterling silver, mirror-polished
- Finish: three-dimensional relief with baroque scrollwork around the clock face
- Motif: angel with spread wings, birth clock, date, weight, and height fields
- Length: approx. 14.5 cm
- Weight: approx. 28 g
- Spoon size: teaspoon with a wide bowl, also usable as a dessert or baby spoon
Material and craftsmanship
At the tip of the handle is a clock face with the numbers 12, 3, 6, and 9, framed by baroque scrollwork that is visually connected to the angel scene below. Beneath this, the main scene unfolds: an angel with wings spread wide, detailed in relief. Next to the angel, a prepared date field "20..." is visible. In the middle section of the handle, clouds and a depiction of the sky continue. Near the spoon bowl, there are two engraving fields for birth weight and birth height.
Occasions and target groups
The most obvious occasion is a christening — the guardian angel makes it a symbolically fitting christening gift. For a birth, the angel expresses the wish for protection even without a religious context, while the engraving system records all birth data. Equally suitable for a first birthday or Christmas.
Engraving and SilberVerse card
Five engraving fields are available: the birth clock, the "20..." date field, birth weight, birth height, as well as the first name and dedication on the back. Since several fields are engraved individually, please contact us before ordering. In addition, we offer a complimentary, digitally designed SilberVerse card in 15 × 10 cm photo format (landscape).
Care
Rinse the spoon by hand with warm water and mild dish soap, and dry it with a soft cloth. Patina can be removed with a silver polishing cloth. Not dishwasher safe.
Frequently asked questions
Is the spoon only intended for a christening?
No. The complete engraving system makes it a comprehensive birth spoon; the angel also stands for protection and good wishes even without a religious background.
What does the "20..." field next to the angel mean?
A prepared date field — the digits "20" are already present in the relief; the remaining digits are added via engraving as the birth year or full date.
Can I give the spoon as a gift without an engraving?
Yes. Even without an engraving, it is a complete gift — the angel relief, sky scene, and engraving fields are already present.
