Material and workmanship

The blue enamel is not applied lacquer but genuine enamel glass, permanently bonded to the silver using the traditional cloisonné technique: fine gold wires form small cells, which are filled with enamel powder and fired at around 800 degrees Celsius. This creates a glass-like, deep color effect that is scratch-resistant and UV-resistant, lasting for decades. The image of Saint Matrona is sculpted in relief and gilded, the handle features Orthodox ornamental patterns, and the spoon bowl is smoothly polished. The spoon is crafted by Argenta from genuine 925 sterling silver with official hallmarking.

This spoon is primarily given for Orthodox baptisms, often by godparents or grandparents, and is also suitable for births or Orthodox holidays. In Orthodox icon tradition, blue symbolizes heaven, eternity, and divine protection and is often chosen for boys—a good guideline, even if the choice of color is now free. Care
