Material and workmanship

The plate is made of 925 sterling silver and designed in three zones: The center remains matte and without decoration, so that the eye is not distracted. The ring enclosing the center, as well as the outer rim, feature high-gloss gilding, giving the plate a warm, elegant accent. A niello floral band runs around the outermost rim — floral ornamentation that is melted into finely engraved indentations and then polished until it is flush with the silver surface. This combination of matte silver, gilding, and niello follows the tradition of SevChern from Russia, a company with long experience in processing silver, gilding, and niello techniques.
