Instead of decoration, it offers surface: a gently curved band of 925 sterling silver, highly polished, that encloses the image like a passe-partout. If you dislike ornamentation but still want impact, this is the answer.

Why width makes the difference
A narrow frame bounds an image. A wide one sets it apart: the silver surface creates distance between the motif and its surroundings, allowing the eye to rest before it reaches the photo. Museums use the same effect when employing large passe-partouts.
With the Berlin, this band is also curved. This creates a gradient from light to dark across the surface that shifts with the viewer's angle — the frame never looks flat, even without a single decorative motif.
Material and Craftsmanship
925 sterling silver, highly polished, hallmarked. A wide, curved, and completely smooth surface is demanding to produce: any irregularity is immediately revealed by the reflection; there is no decor behind which it could disappear. Crafted by Zaramella Argenti in Italy, since 1948.
