Material and workmanship

The Astra Classic collection combines partial gold plating with traditional niello engraving – a millennia-old technique also known as "ink in silver". A sulfur alloy is melted into finely engraved grooves and forms a permanent, chemical-physical bond with the silver. The result is deep black lines that do not flake off and even deepen with polishing over time. The spoon handle features the characteristic Astra pattern in this technique, while the wide bowl is generously designed for serving. With a length of approx. 144 mm and a weight of approx. 44 g, the spoon feels well-balanced in the hand – serving cutlery that not only fulfills its purpose but also makes a statement at the breakfast table.
