The Astra Classic collection combines partial gold plating with traditional niello engraving. The spoon handle features the characteristic Astra pattern — dark niello lines on gold-plated silver. The wide bowl is designed for serving jam, honey, or preserves.

What is Niello engraving?

Niello is a sulfur alloy that is melted into finely engraved grooves. The result is permanently dark lines that sit precisely within the engraved patterns. In the Astra Classic collection, SevChern uses this technique alternately with gold plating — classic Russian silversmithing.
