Material and workmanship

Both cups in the Quadrille set are identical in shape, material, and gold plating scheme: the rim, handle, base, and the background of the central image medallion feature a warm golden tone, framed by a dark black niello band. However, the two cups intentionally differ in their center: one features a stylized bird motif, while the other shows two dancing figures in traditional costume. Both medallions are hand-engraved and filled with niello, making them clearly stand out from the gilded background. This combination of shared form and different motifs makes the set more than two identical cups — it is a pair that belongs together without being identical. The slender, tall shape of the cups differs from the broader, flatter models in the range: With a height of 98 mm and a diameter of 76 mm, they stand upright and present on the table.

Usage and occasions
