Description
Some gifts are only complete when the recipient stands for them. The "Patron antique patinated" tea glass holder set features a 925 sterling silver podstakannik in a classicist column structure with an empty oval medallion, framed by a laurel wreath and ribbon – ready for your engraving. Unlike the highly polished "Der Meister" set, this holder is antique patinated, with the blackening in the indentations making the acanthus, laurel, and borders stand out plastically. It comes with a classic table teaspoon and a checkered crystal glass, united in a velvet-lined premium case.

Material and workmanship
The "Patron" podstakannik features a classicist column structure with a central oval medallion, framed by a laurel wreath and ribbon – deliberately left empty for an engraving. Acanthus volutes sit between the columns, and the stirrup handle bears laurel leaf ornamentation and a pearl edge. The indentations of the ornaments are antique patinated, while the raised surfaces remain polished, so that the holder structure and medallion frame stand out plastically. The accompanying classic table teaspoon has an elegant handle with an oval handle end and subtle acanthus ornaments at the neck, with a highly polished bowl – a calmer design than the "Imperator" variant of "Der Meister" set, without its own second engraving field. The "Tschajny" checkered crystal glass with a cut geometric pattern is a replaceable consumable part and can be replaced if necessary. The blackening is a superficial patination and differs technically from Niello, the sulfur-silver inlay technique of the SevChern manufactory.
Use and occasions
The empty medallion makes this set a suitable gift when initials, a family crest, or a company logo are to be the focus – framed by the ceremonial effect of the laurel wreath. It is suitable as a Father's Day gift with a family monogram, as a grandfather's gift in Russian-German families with heirloom character, as a business gift for a director, board member, or long-serving employee for an anniversary, and as a godfather or godmother gift for confirmation or graduation with an engraved date. The set is also well suited as a wedding gift to the groom with initials and date, for a round birthday, retirement, or promotion, as well as for patriotic and institutional occasions such as a city coat of arms or club emblem. If you prefer a more modern, highly polished version with an additional spoon engraving field, you will find it in our "Der Meister" set. Discover more pieces in our 925 silver flatware collection.
Engraving and SilberVerse card
The oval medallion on the holder measures approx. 30 × 22 mm and is the main stage for your engraving: initials in classic script or as an intertwined monogram, a family crest or company logo as a line drawing, a date, or a short motto of a maximum of three to four words. A combination of initials at the top and a date at the bottom is also possible. The flat oval handle end of the spoon can also be engraved, for example, with initials or a small date. Hand-engraving by a silversmith best suits the classical style; for a beautiful execution, you should allow about one to two weeks. With every engraving, we can include a SilberVerse card measuring 15 × 10 cm – digitally designed, with a personal dedication, currently at no extra charge.
Care
Clean the holder and spoon only by hand with warm water, mild dish soap, and a soft cloth – never in the dishwasher, never rub away the blackening in the indentations with silver polish. After use, wipe dry and store in the case, which protects against air contact and delays natural tarnishing. For heavier tarnishing of the polished surfaces, a soft silver polishing cloth without abrasive particles can be used on the raised areas, never in the blackened indentations. After a new engraving, it is recommended to wait a few days before cleaning the engraved area. The checkered glass is dishwasher safe on a short gentle cycle, but by hand, it remains gentler and clearer.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference to the "Der Meister" set?
Both have an empty crest medallion for personalization, but different surfaces: "Patron" is antique patinated with blackening in the indentations, "Der Meister" is highly polished without blackening. The "Imperator" spoon in the Meister set also offers a second engraving field on the handle crown – with the Patron set, the spoon is a classic table spoon without a separate engraving field.
Is the engraving included?
No, the engraving is a separate service. We are happy to put you in touch with a silversmith – the duration and effort depend on the complexity, font, and level of detail of the crest.
Is the blackening the same as Niello?
No. Niello is a sulfur-silver inlay technique, typical for SevChern from Veliky Ustyug. The blackening used here is a superficial patination in the indentations.
