Material and craftsmanship
This version remains intentionally ungilded: niello engraving appears clearer and cooler on polished silver than on gilded surfaces. The floral ornaments cover the entire outer surface—there is no area left ungravated, complemented by a dedicated niello frieze on the pedestal base. Each line is hand-engraved before the black niello inlay is fused, ground flush, and polished multiple times—like ink in silver—until the depth of the drawing is perfect.
