Material and craftsmanship

The conical cezve silhouette has been physically adapted for Turkish mocha since the 16th century: the wide base absorbs maximum heat and transfers it evenly, the narrow neck concentrates the foam crown, and the elegant spout pours the foam cleanly into the cup. The horizontally attached long beechwood handle with its silver cuff insulates the hand from the heat of the silver, which itself conducts extremely quickly. The Pur variant leaves the engraving lines open—silver-on-silver without filling, a line relief that is only visible in the light and from up close. Understatement as luxury, in contrast to the niello sister of the same collection, where the lines are filled with a black alloy.

Usage and occasions

370 ml is enough for 3 to 4 Turkish mocha cups of 60–70 ml each—ideal for one to two people or a quiet mocha evening for four with two brews. Suitable heat sources are gas, electric, ceramic cooktops, open fire, and the traditional sand basin; induction and microwaves are not suitable, as silver is not ferromagnetic. Care

Hand wash with warm water, a soft brush, and mild dish soap. Silver can tarnish slightly due to sulfur in the air; a silver polishing cloth will wipe this away, and the engraving lines actually become more visible when polished. Never submerge the long beechwood handle in water; just wipe it with a damp cloth, keep it dry, and occasionally treat it with a thin layer of walnut oil. No dishwasher.
