Material and craftsmanship
The two pear-shaped shakers are identically shaped and feature fully gold-plated lids as well as gold-plated rings at the base. The exterior is matte-finished and adorned with a dark blue floral motif encircling the body—the salt shaker lid has many small holes for fine grains of salt, while the pepper shaker lid has fewer, larger holes for coarser peppercorns. The oval tray is specifically dimensioned for this set: fully gold-plated rim, matte-finished center, ensuring both shakers stand securely without wobbling. All three pieces originate from the SevChern manufactory and are hallmarked.
Use and occasions
With a capacity of 30 ml each, the shakers are intended for regular use without the need for constant refilling. The different hole patterns on the salt and pepper shakers make them easy to distinguish at the table.
