Material and craftsmanship
The tray and fork are made of solid 925 sterling silver and feature blue and gold ornaments on the handles – floral motifs that wrap around small medallions. The lemon fork is recognizable by its spiral-twisted, gilded handle, which ends in narrow silver ring accents and an ornamental tip. The niello inlay is created in several steps: first, the motif is engraved, then the niello mass is melted in, polished, and combined with the gilding. The result is a contrast between warm gold and dark ornamental lines that gives the small tray its presence.
