Aries zodiac dessert cutlery: image, symbol, and gold
An engraver has hand-placed the ram with its curled horns into the bowl, gilded it, and set it with a gold rim. The fork is fully gilded; under the tines sits a shield with the Aries symbol. Both handles end in a blossom with a niello inlay.
Aries: Fire sign at the beginning of the zodiac
Aries is in effect from March 21st to April 20th; its element is fire. It opens the zodiac, and Greek tradition knows it as the ram with the Golden Fleece.
April birthday, Christmas, milestone celebration
For a birthday, the cutlery is brought to the table for coffee and cake. Under the Christmas tree, it shows that you have thought of the person. For a milestone birthday, it remains in the house as a keepsake.
Niello from Veliky Ustyug and care
SevChern works where the art of niello has been documented since 1683: The lines are engraved by hand, the dark mass is melted in, without lacquer. Wash by hand only.
