What makes this Taurus Zodiac set special
Three pieces belong together here: the teaspoon for your cup, and the dessert spoon and fork for your slice of cake. Both spoons feature the same gold-plated, lowered-head bull in the bowl, smaller on the teaspoon. The fork displays the zodiac symbol on a shield below the tines. A niello flower at the end of each handle visually ties the three pieces together.
The Taurus: Earth and mid-spring
The earth sign Taurus encompasses the weeks from April 21 to May 20. According to legend, Zeus took the form of a bull when he carried Europa across the sea.
Occasions: May birthdays, celebrations, and anniversaries
On a birthday in May, this set belongs on the coffee table, not in the cupboard. At Christmas, it shows that you have paid close attention.
Niello: A technique from Veliky Ustyug
The art of niello has been documented in Veliky Ustyug since 1683. SevChern carves the patterns by hand, and the black paste is then melted into the design.
Frequently asked questions about the Taurus set
Which zodiac sign is someone born on May 8th?
Taurus, as this sign lasts until May 20th.
Is the same image on both Taurus spoons?
Yes. The dessert spoon and teaspoon feature the same depiction in the bowl (a bull with a lowered head), scaled down for the teaspoon.
Can I choose individual pieces or a two-piece set from the Taurus collection?
Yes. You can choose the two-piece Taurus dessert cutlery, or purchase the dessert spoon, dessert fork, and teaspoon individually.
Is it possible to have the Taurus set engraved with a name or date?
Unfortunately no, as there is no available space on the spoon bowls, the fork shield, or the handles. For names and personal messages, we are happy to include a complimentary SilberVerse card.
Is the Taurus set dishwasher safe?
No. Please hand wash, dry immediately, and avoid silver baths. You can find out how the niello in the Taurus set is created in our niello guide.
