Material and workmanship

The carafe is pear-shaped with a slender neck, curved handle, and a lid with a polished knob — crafted from pure 925 sterling silver, without gold plating. The pinecone motif is centrally located on the body: the individual scales are engraved and provided with fine cross-hatching, which gives the motif plasticity, while needles and branches flow around the cone in niello black, adding movement to the composition. On the neck, the motif is repeated in a smaller form — an echo that connects the carafe and the lid.

The niello inlay is hand-engraved, and the dark mass is then melted into the depressions — a permanent bond with the silver, not a lacquer. The carafe is manufactured by SevChern in Veliky Ustyug, where the art of niello has been documented since 1683. In Russian ornamentation, the pinecone symbolizes forests and constancy — a motif that is not seasonal and works on the table at any time of year.

Use and occasions

750 ml is equivalent to one bottle of wine — the carafe was designed for this volume so that the contents can be fully decanted and served at the table. Pure silver without gold plating ensures a cool, clear appearance, where the pinecone motif and the polished silver sheen create the effect. As the starting piece of the Cones collection, the carafe can be complemented with matching glasses, a tray, or cutlery in the same motif — piece by piece, as suits the occasion. Care
