The carafe is the starting point: 750 ml, approx. 535 g, pear shape with a slender neck, curved handle, and lid with a polished knob. Pure silver without gilding – the pinecone motif and polished silver are enough.

The Pinecone — Nature on Silver

The pinecone motif on this carafe is not abstract – the scales of the cone are individually engraved, each with a small cross-hatch that gives the motif plasticity. The needles and branches flow in niello black around the cone, giving the composition movement. At the top of the neck, the motif is repeated in a smaller version – an echo that connects the carafe and lid.

In Russian ornamentation, the pinecone symbolizes forest, winter, and steadfastness – a motif that is not seasonal and works on the table in any season. No little flowers for summer, no snowflake for winter – but a pinecone that always fits.
