Material and craftsmanship

Niello is one of the oldest decorative techniques in silversmithing: a black inlay is melted into the engraved lines, sanded flush, and polished—like ink in silver. It is not paint or a coating, but part of the metal itself. Each flower is first hand-engraved into the 925 silver before the dark compound is filled in and polished to a high sheen. The surface of the teapot is intentionally frosted: not a high-gloss polish, but a silky, satin texture that reflects light gently and feels warm to the touch. The contrast between frosted silver, dark niello ornament, and golden accents gives the teapot a depth that reveals itself anew with every incidence of light—and which increases with every polishing.

Care

After use, rinse the teapot with warm water and dry with a soft, lint-free cloth. For exterior cleaning, use a special silver polishing cloth—never use aggressive cleaning agents, scouring cream, or coarse sponges, as niello inlays and gilding are sensitive to mechanical stress. Do not put in the dishwasher. With this care, the frosted surface will remain beautifully unchanged for decades.
